5Star Crew Co, the crewing and people businesses, has acquired the Scottish event crew support company Crewtec.

The acquisition follows event services group Vibration Group taking a significant share in 5Star Crew Co.

Simeon Aldred, strategy and creative director at Vibration Group, commented: “We are super excited to be working with Ed and the team to fund exciting expansion plans for 5Star. Having a great people business as part of our group not only helps us deliver across our venues, production, agency businesses, and festivals, but is great for our brand and industry clients.”

Ed Driver, managing director of 5Star, added: “We are pleased Crewtec has chosen us as their expansion partner. The two businesses working together will give us wider reach, a consistent product across the UK, and the ability to integrate some of Crewtec’s specialist services into our offering.”

Keith Montgomery, managing director of Crewtec, said: “We can’t wait to get started on this bigger, more joined up crewing business. We share the same culture and values as Ed and the team, and are delighted to be backed by Vibration Group.”

Following the merger, Driver will remain as managing director whilst Montgomery will assume the position of commercial director.
