WhatsCookingAccio Group has constructed a temporary structure for long-term client Sainsbury’s, which is to be used as a television studio for its brand new What’s Cooking? From the Sainsbury’s Kitchen TV show that is soon to air on Channel 4.

The 720 square metre, two-storey structure houses an interactive studio, space for a live audience, three production offices, a green room and a prep kitchen.

The “branded” cookery show will be filmed in front of a live audience, broadcast from the studio located at a Sainsbury’s store in south London and will feature an interactive element as the audience at home will be encouraged to ask questions via social media.

Accio arrived on site five days ago and despite challenging weather conditions the structural work is already complete with final finishes being added to exterior cladding, as they make ready for the technical teams to begin the communications and interior fit-out.

‘What’s Cooking?’ starts later this month and will be co-hosted by Ben Shephard and former Celebrity Masterchef winner Lisa Faulkner, with various celebrity guests and chefs popping in each week. The hourly Channel 4 show will be on air week-day lunchtimes, with a planned run of 13 weeks.
