Attitude is Everything launches Accessible Volunteering Guide

Attitude is Everything has launched an Accessible Volunteering Guide as part of its Beyond the Music programme, a three-year programme funded by the National Lottery Community Fund to improve accessibility to live events.

The guide was created by a combination of the organisation’s experience working in the music and live events industries, including providing opportunities for disabled volunteers at Glastonbury, Latitude, Reading, Leeds and several other events.

The guide shares tips and guidance on how to make your events more inclusive and accessible for the disabled volunteers you work with. Topics covered include how to create accessible resources, how to work with and support Personal Assistants and how to manage reasonable adjustments.

Paul Hawkins, head of volunteering and skills development at Attitude is Everything, said: “Volunteering is a fantastic way for audiences to connect with and participate in the festivals and events they love, and it is vital that disabled people have the same opportunities to volunteer as any other music lover. This new guide gives festivals and events the knowledge and tools they need to support disabled people to volunteer without barriers.”

The guide can be found here.
