Changes at the top for creative events company, Meet & Potato

Creative events company Meet & Potato (M&P) has announced Karen Clarkson as managing director, with founder Jon Kelly moving to CEO.

Having worked for the company for up to ten years, Clarkson’s new role will see her manage the ongoing relationships of all clients and have a broader, more strategic role in the direction of the business.

After announcing new team members and a new videography department, the business needs a strong leadership team to lead it to its next stage of growth.

Talking about the announcement, Jon Kelly, founder of Meet & Potato, said: “As the business grows, it became clear we needed a strategic leader to guide the team through our next chapter and ensure our roster of long term clients are receiving the consistent quality and level of service that we are known for. Karen is the perfect person for this and as a well respected member of both the team and the wider industry, I am confident she is the right woman for the job.”

Kelly will remain in the business, with a core strategic focus on attracting new business across all sectors, with a particular focus on retail and automotive.

Clarkson added: “There’s a real sense of change happening within the business as we grow and after a tumultuous few years across all industries I’m hugely excited to take on this new role and support the business, its clients and our expanding team.”

New hires, promotions and departments at creative events company, Meet & Potato

Creative events company Meet and Potato (M&P) has revealed its expansion plans that sees three new hires to the business and the creation of a new videography department as well as senior promotions.

With an increasing client need for visual content, M&P has hired Tom Guerrier, a videographer who has worked with all major UK broadcasters, such as the BBC and ITV.

The agency has also appointed a further two new hires including Laura Williams, event producer, and Niki Toth, content coordinator. The new structure of M&P has also seen Jo Prosser promoted to creative director from head of creative experience.

Offering a dedicated videography resource will enable M&P to create events with tailored content inline with event themes and also stand alone client brand videography. Leading this new department, Guerrier has more than 15 years' filming experience, previously holding the role of senior producer at Zut Media supporting clients such as Hasbro and Liverpool FC, as well as roles at the BBC, ITV and Comedy Central.

Event producer Williams has huge industry experience, most recently holding the position of senior conference an event coordinator at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool. Williams has also worked at Vitaflo International as global conference and exhibition organiser and at AMS as events and marketing coordinator. Toth has also joined M&P to bolster the creative team to support the delivery of events. Having worked in events and production in Hungary, before moving to Liverpool to study, Toth will work on the creative design of projects.

Overseeing the whole creative output of M&P will be Prosser, who has almost 30 years of global experience in the creative industry, working in production, photography, film and advertising.

Chelsea Tantum, new producer at Chameleon Agency

Chameleon Agency appoints Chelsea Tantum as producer

The Chameleon Agency, the creative communications agency, has appointed Chelsea Tantum to account manager and producer to service the agency’s flurry of new event business wins, including fashion giant Boohoo Group and project management platform Teamwork.

Tantum has more than 10 years of experience in creative strategic project management, starting her career at People Activation. It was whilst at People Activation that Tantum met Joe Gilliver, The Chameleon Agency’s founder.

From People Activation, Tantum went on to work as a producer at Flow Creative working with many of the agency’s charity and not for profit organisations such as modern slavery prevention organisation Hope for Justice.

Speaking about her appointment at Chameleon Agency, Tantum said: “I’m delighted to be back working with Joe on events that support business’ strategy and bond teams. I get a lot of satisfaction working on corporate events, by making people happy and feel like they are part of a team. Joe is a great person to work with and my previous experience in events means I have strong supplier connections plus I generally love the variety of work an event brings. I look forward to working on Boohoo's summer event and making Teamwork’s event a huge success.”
