Big Ben first for NYE fireworks

Big Ben was the star of the show at the Mayor of London’s New Year’s Eve Fireworks Display. The London landmark took centre stage as a number of effects were fired from the Great Clock Tower – the first time ever this has happened. Jack Morton Worldwide produced the spectacle for the eighth year and Kimbolton Fireworks provided its expertise.

The 11-minute display featured over 12,000 effects fired from one of 156 firing positions. Radio 1’s DJ Nihal and producer Dan Mumford created the evening’s soundtrack.
