Corporate demand for unusual venues displayed at Lime Venue Portfolio showcase

Lime Venue Portfolio held its first venue showcase to an audience of more than 150 corporate meetings and events buyers and agencies at the Old Royal Naval College’s magnificent Painted Hall.

Guests had the opportunity to speak with representatives and familiarise themselves with the offerings of 36 of Lime Venue Portfolio’s national treasure houses and leisure destinations, iconic sporting stadiums as well as the UK’s major racecourses. Exhibiting venues included: the Kia Oval, Edgbaston, Royal Berkshire Conference Centre, Edinburgh Zoo, Dartmouth House, Stationers’ Hall, Museum of Science and Industry, Beaulieu, Kempton Park, Epsom Downs and Cheltenham Racecourses.

Many attendees enjoyed the opportunity to travel by Thames Clipper from the ExCeL Arena and were greeted on arrival by Champagne and music from jazz trio Viva La Bop, acoustic guitarists Wandering Hands, and magician Neb.

Jo Austin, head of sales, Lime Venue Portfolio, said: “We are delighted with the turnout and success of our inaugural showcase event, which shows the increasing preference of event bookers and buyers for unique venues.”

“Following feedback from attendees whose time is very limited for site visits, it is clear that events like this allow them to meet key contacts and understand the unique features of each of the venues which are part of the portfolio, in just a few hours; consequently, we are already looking at hosting a similar event on annual basis.”
