Covent Garden event created for Olivier Awards

The Olivier Awards are moving to the Royal Opera House, and its organisers have also created an extra event in Covent Garden to enable theatre fans to witness all the action. The awards, which are to be held on April 15, will be screened live to audiences in London and New York.

Magic FM is hosting the free Covent Garden piazza event from 4pm that will feature a range of performances from some of London’s best-loved shows. Neil Fox, presenter of Magic FM’s breakfast programme will host the Covent Garden crowd.

The Olivier Awards with MasterCard will be presented by Sweeney Todd stars Michael Ball and Imelda Staunton – a special event is also being held in New York, where stars of Broadway will also be able to witness the theatrical action.
