Dubai Airshow announces record figures

Dubai Airshow has reported a seven per cent increase in trade visitors and an order book four times larger than the previous event in 2009. Orders totaling US$63.3 billion have been recorded and an eight per cent increase in exhibitors has also been confirmed.

The event, which took place from November 13-17, covered 325,513 square metres and featured 103 chalets.

Alison Weller, managing director, F&E Aerospace, said: “The 2011 Dubai Airshow proved to be the best in our 22 year history. Reactions from exhibitors, visitors and the Dubai government have been outstanding. The end of this 12th edition of the Dubai Airshow also marks the conclusion of our relationship with the Airport Expo which will close to make way for the expansion of the Dubai International Airport, and we are now making bold plans to stage the next Dubai Airshow at Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International Airport in 2013.”
