Event professionals’ mental health and sustainability are firmly back on the agenda at Event Buyers Live 2023, thanks to continuing partnerships with Mental Health UK and ecolibrium.

The organising team of Event Buyers Live has created a Just Giving page and is raising vital monies for the mental health charity. Plus, it is encouraging guests to register their travel miles, enabling them to calculate and balance their travel emissions through ecolibrium.

Every time an events professional “recommends” EBL to a friend and they sign up to attend*, Event Buyers Live will donate money to Mental Health UK. Furthermore, event professionals are being invited to balance their travel emissions and use low-carbon forms of travel to the event.

Event Buyers Live is not only hoping to raise £5,000 for Mental Health UK, its official charity partner, but also wishes to acknowledge and address the mental well-being of live event professionals.

Neil Fagg, co-founder of Event Buyers Live, said: “We understand the intense pressures and challenges that event professionals face on a daily basis. The live events business is extremely demanding, both physically and mentally. This is why we have chosen to align ourselves with Mental Health UK. We know that by supporting Mental Health UK we can have a powerful and positive impact.”

Fagg continued: “But that’s not all. We have also partnered with EventWell to offer our guests the ability to retreat to a supervised mental well-being hub and quiet room.

“By working with organisations such as EventWell and Mental Health UK, Event Buyers Live is actively demonstrating just how seriously we take the mental health and welfare of the community we serve.”

This year’s Event Buyers Live will feature a silent auction – delivered in partnership with Versatile Venues – with monies raised also being donated to Mental Health UK.

Claire Neal, head of workplace mental health at Mental Health UK, said: “We are delighted to be working with Event Buyers Live for the second year in a row, and it’s great to see how seriously EBL takes mental health.

“Mental Health was a running theme in the event’s content programme in 2022 and continues to feature in the 2023 agenda, with a focus on welfare, mental health, and safeguarding. It is so important that mental health remains a priority for this industry and that positive steps are being taken to keep the issue front and centre.

“We urge all attendees to consider taking action to encourage open conversations about mental health and more information about how Mental Health UK can support you, along with free downloadable resources, can be found here.

“We are incredibly delighted and grateful to be working with Event Buyers Live for the second year in a row. We have seen first-hand just how seriously EBL takes mental health.

“The topic was a running theme in the event’s content programme in 2022 and I know that welfare, mental health, and safeguarding feature in the 2023 agenda. It makes me so happy to hear that it remains a priority and that positive steps are being taken to keep the issue front and centre.”

Anyone attending #EBL23 is also being kindly asked to make a small contribution to ecolibrium’s climate solutions programmes – Trees+ or Energy Revolution – to help mitigate the impacts of travel and deliver positive climate impacts.
