Echocardiography conference confirmed for ICC Wales

The British Society of Echocardiography has confirmed that its BSEcho 2022 conference will be held at ICC Wales in October 2022.

The conference is expected to attract almost 1,000 medical professionals from across the UK to Newport, South Wales for the two-day event, consisting of networking opportunities and educational sessions on the latest advancements in echocardiography. The event is projected to boost the local economy by an estimated £1.2 million.

Gill Daniell, operations manager at the British Society of Echocardiography, commented: “We are delighted to be hosting our annual conference at this exciting new venue. ICC Wales was the natural choice for us, as our members are based all over the UK, so Newport is an accessible and central destination. In addition, of course, it is a state of the art, large-scale venue, and we know our members will be eager to be visit. We are very much looking forward to working with ICC Wales.”

An £83.7 million joint venture between Celtic Manor Resort and Welsh Government, when it opens in 2019, ICC Wales will accommodate up to 5,000 delegates. The venue includes a 4,000 square metre pillar-free main hall, a 1,500-seated auditorium, 12 meeting rooms, a double height glass atrium and a 2,500 square metre outdoor plaza.
