Event Buyers Live partners with EventWell for #EBL23

EventWell is working with Event Buyers Live to provide a supervised and fully-functioning mental wellness hub and quiet room at #EBL23.

Event Buyers Live – the hosted buyer event for live event professionals – has engaged the  neuro-inclusive social enterprise to run a safe space at the 2023 event, where anyone can go and take time out.

Led by Helen Moon (pictured), EventWell is an award-winning organisation that wishes to put mental health on the agenda in every business and empower event professionals to ask for support when needed.

Neil Fagg, founder of Event Buyers Live, said: “Event Buyers Live is an exciting event that is a source of inspiration and ideas. The event features a mix of sessions from pre-arranged meetings and practical workshops to interactive discussions and relaxed networking. We appreciate that busy itineraries and noisy environments can be too much for some. This is why we have asked Helen and her team to deliver a safe space where anyone can go to take time out.”

Fagg continued: “Event Buyers Live has been described as the place to do business and we know that it is an event where deals are struck. Intense conversations – whilst enjoyable and productive – do require a lot of brain power so we wanted a dedicated space where people can unwind, feel comfortable, and take five minutes. EventWell ’s quiet room and wellness hub is that space and we’re delighted to be working alongside Helen to offer our guests access to this new area this year.”

Helen Moon, chief executive of EventWell, said: “I have not had the pleasure of working with Event Buyers Live before so naturally, when I spoke with Neil and his team, I jumped at the chance to introduce a quiet space at #EBL23.

“The sustainability of the creative and event industries depends on improving how we approach mental health.

“Annually mental ill health affects one in six people in general work, but one in three of our industry professionals. If I can be of assistance to anyone at Event Buyers Live this year – even one person – then I know that I and EBL will have made a positive difference to someone’s life and that’s a good thing.”

Event Buyers Live has announced Mental Health UK as the event’s charity partner. It has created a Just Giving page and is raising vital monies for the mental health charity.

Every time an events professional “recommends” EBL to a friend and they sign up to attend*, Event Buyers Live will donate money to Mental Health UK.

Event Buyers Live is not only hoping to raise £5,000 for Mental Health UK, its official charity partner, but also wishes to acknowledge and address the mental well-being of live event professionals.
