Event experts join Event Buyers Live speaker programme
Debs Armstrong, founder of Strong and Co, and the creative genius behind Glastonbury’s Shangri-La, and Brian Cleary, managing director of Sygma Safety and Events, are two of the first speakers to be revealed by Event Buyers Live, the industry event for live events professionals.
Armstrong and Cleary will facilitate the hosted buyer event’s respective roundtable sessions that are set to address the pitfalls and opportunities surrounding event and festival finance and event and festival health and safety.
Taking place on February 8 and 9, 2017, at Hilton Heathrow Terminal 5 Hotel, Event Buyers Live is “the place to do business”, and facilitates pre-arranged face-to-face meetings between organisers and suppliers.
Event organisers looking for fresh ideas are encouraged to register now for the dedicated event, which will see Armstrong – also founder of Summerland – drawing on her experiences surrounding Arts Council funding, grants, crowdfunding and commercial sponsorships and partnerships.
Cleary, responsible for health and safety and licensing compliance at Boomtown Fair, will facilitate Event Buyers Live’s roundtable on event and festival health and safety, which will enable organisers to address key health and safety concerns on their sites.
Neil Fagg, event manager of Event Buyers Live, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Debs and Brian as speakers to Event Buyers Live. They are both events professionals at the top of their game and we are looking forward to hearing their thoughts and experiences regarding festival finance and the pressures of funding events and health and safety.”
Fagg added: “I am also extremely pleased to reveal that registration for the 2017 event is now open and that a raft of organisers have already signed up for the event, which has been so warmly received by the events sector over the last few years.”
The roundtable discussions at Event Buyers Live give organisers the chance to openly talk about their ideas and experiences, and ask fellow events professionals for their thoughts and opinions on a range of topics, which, in 2017, will include the challenges of festival expansion, effective infrastructure procurement, choosing the right technology for your event and addressing key health and safety concerns on event and festival sites.
