The event organiser at Port Eliot Festival has announced that this year’s festival will be the last for the foreseeable future – because of rising costs.

In a statement, the organiser at Port Eliot Festival said: “While we may return one day, we would like to take this opportunity to express our overwhelming gratitude and love to everybody – our audience, the unrivalled festival team, our longstanding festival partners, everybody – that has made the festival an internationally-recognised event”.

The festival in recent years has become “increasingly challenging to present a truly inspirational programme while remaining financially stable”.

The event gathers up literary talents, speakers, musicians, artists and more for a weekend of diverse entertainment.

The festival will host its last event on July 25-28 this year in Port Eliot, Cornwall.
