Eventia Awards recognise skill and talent of events industry

A star-studded Eventia Awards last Friday evening saw X-Factor performances by Ella Henderson and District3, during an evening which celebrated the best of the best industry talent.

Paul Deighton, chief executive of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) received the Outstanding Achievement accolade, whilst event industry contributions to the Olympics were also recognised with, amongst others, a double Gold for Crown and its London 2012 Games Maker Orientation Events. Crown won its two Gold trophies for Best Conference UK and Best Incentive Motivational UK.

The 2012 Events Agency of the Year award went to drpgroup whilst RPM won the coveted Platinum award for consistently high scores across all of its entries.

The judges awarded RPM Gold for its work on the Talisker Sail-in Cinema initiative in two categories (Best Event in a Public Space and Best Brand Experience), as well as a Silver for its agricultural shows campaign on behalf of M&S and Silver for its Smirnoff Presents Sensations initiative.

RPM’s staffing division, RPM Promotional People, also won Gold in the Event Services Supplier of the Year category for its work on behalf of Coco-Cola to cast and staff 320 brand ambassadors to work in and around the Olympic Park during the Games.

Agency of the Year, drpgroup also won Gold in the category for Best Team-building Event and Silver for Best Corporate Social Responsibility on behalf of its work for Chiltern Railways. It also won Silver for Best Conference UK on behalf of Sainsbury’s.
