Each week, we will focus on a StandOut individual who has been extraordinary within the events industry. This week it is Holly Lince, project manager at Gloworm Festival.

How did you get into the events industry? Where has your career taken you and what roles have you enjoyed?

During COVID, I was on maternity leave and then furloughed so it was a nice to have some extended time with my baby. Unfortunately, my position was being made redundant after furlough, so I started looking for a new job. I saw a project coordinator position with Gloworm Festival. It was a part-time, no-experience needed position and after looking into the festival, I fell in love with the whole concept of the event.

I am very grateful for the role I have at Gloworm. For many reasons. I can look at everything my daughter is interested in and try to see how I can bring that to life at the event. I have been able to meet some incredible artists and characters and have worked with some amazing brands over the last four years.

What is it about your job that you love doing?

One of the many things I love about my job is after a year of preparing for the event, I then get to walk around the festival and see so many happy families spending some amazing, quality time together.

What’s been the stand out moment of your career so far?

The standout moment during my role will always be watching my daughter and her Dad dancing the night away together in front of the main stage. After all the hard work of putting the event on, it all seems so worth it when I get to see their faces enjoying something that I was a part of making.

What key pieces of advice would you give to someone starting in events?

Advice for people looking to get in the events industry is just do it! Sometimes it’s hard, sometimes there are late nights and early starts but it is also fun, creative, and empowering when you see it all come together and know that you were a part of it.
