Festival Republic licence application

Festival Republic granted licence to hold three-day event in Luton

Luton Council has approved a licence application submitted by Festival Republic to hold a three-day event at Stockwood Park.

At a council meeting held on January 22, the council granted plans submitted by the large promoter.

A large event will take place from May 24-26 with amplified music planned on four stages from 12pm until 23.30 on May 24 and from 9.30 to 10.30 on May 25 and 26.

The licence will allow live music, dance performances, and film.

One resident objected to the licence application, stating that the event planned would cause congestion, noise disruption, and antisocial behaviour.

Festival Republic organises large festivals including Download, Latitude, and Reading and Leeds, and works alongside the BBC to produce and manage BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend.
