Gable Events launch corporate dragon boat challenge at Dorney Lake
Gable Events has launched the first Corporate Dragon Boat Challenge to be held at the London 2012 Olympic rowing and canoeing venue, Dorney Lake, Windsor. It is inviting companies throughout the Thames Valley, London and the South East to enter teams. The team building challenge will take place on July 3.
More than 30 crews are expected to battle it out over the 200-metre Olympic racecourse watched by hundreds of colleagues and spectators. The dragon boats, qualified helms and all racing equipment are provided and each crew of up to 11 people is guaranteed a minimum of three races.
Carol Lester, director of Gable Events, said: “We’re really excited about the challenge as it gives companies an opportunity to compete in one of the most rewarding and fun sports at a top London 2012 Olympic venue.
“As well as being a great event for companies to motivate staff and entertain clients, dragon boat racing is also fantastic for team building – what better way to get to know what makes your colleagues and competitors tick? July may seem a long way off but we are expecting the Dragon Boat Challenge to be extremely popular in the tide of London 2012 so we strongly urge companies to get their teams together and sign up early in order to secure a place.”
A BBQ is included in the entry for teams and additional tickets are available for guests. Companies have the option to raise their profile at the event by entering a Gold crew which includes a company logo on both sides of a dragon boat, promotional display and souvenir programme advertising.
