GL events appoints new MD to oversee all three UK divisions

Scott Hayward, former operations directors of Owen Brown, has been appointed as managing director of GL events.

Hayward, currently the managing director of GL events Slick Seating, will lead all three of the company’s UK divisions, taking charge of Owen Brown and Snowdens.

GL events has appointed Hayward, who is taking over from the firms’ outgoing managing director, Alex Robertson.

Hayward was previously the operations director for Owen Brown until he left to project manage the major event overlay for GL events LIVE at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi and the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand the following year.

In 2012, he took up the position of managing director of Slick Seating, which was acquired by GL events the previous year, and oversaw the company’s delivery and installation of around 130,000 tiered seats at 14 venues at last year’s Olympic and Paralympic Games.

His new role brings all three companies under one leadership, which reflects the firms’ increasingly close working relationship, not least at London 2012 where Owen Brown and Snowdens supplied temporary structures as part of the GL events Consortium.
