GrassRootsStaff cuts have been announced by Grass Roots following a restructure of the company’s Marlow-based events and communications division.

According to David Hackett, deputy chairman – events, Grass Roots, significant changes have been made to the business’ operating model over the last 15 months, however further “efficiencies” are required in order to ensure “competitiveness”.

He explained: “As a consequence, we have promoted Amber Keats to head of event management and Karen Giles to head a new participant engagement unit. Regrettably there will also be departures.

“We have to rationalise operating costs and implement revised delivery models to ensure we can deliver best value for our clients. Grass Roots is renowned for excellent operational delivery however in the current marketplace we must operate faster, leaner and better to meet client expectations.”

Hackett confirmed that the company is looking to reduce overheads and streamline the business and, as a result, a number of jobs have been placed at risk from across the business.
