Hampshire Air Festival cancelled – organiser enters liquidation
Montserrat Events and Festivals, organiser of Hampshire Air Festival, has announced that the event has been cancelled.
The aviation event – due to take place on September 12 and 13 at Thruxton Aerodrome – will not go ahead.
Furthermore, steps are being taken to put Montserrat Events and Festivals into liquidation with the directors taking independent legal and insolvency advice.
In February, Jonathan Moore, founder of Montserrat Events, told this magazine that he had appointed Mandrake Event Services, Tech Services, Ticketflex, DSPE, and Venture Security to provide equipment and services to Hampshire Air Festival, a new event – evolved out of Lee Victory Festival.
Moore – organiser of Lee Victory Festival and Proms at Stansted House – wished to establish Hampshire Air Festival as an annual event, especially as Thruxton Aerodrome is investing in events and its facilities.
He told StandOut that he had a two-year agreement with the circuit and hoped to “prove” that event concept.
