We are now seeking a skilled and collaborative AV Hire Technician to join our friendly team.

Job description

As an AV Hire Technician at Quadrant Events, you will provide prep and maintenance of equipment for event hire across a range of primarily corporate events, ensuring smooth delivery and exceeding expectations. Effectively communicating with customers and colleagues, whilst taking initiative to deliver excellent service across all areas of the role.

Key responsibilities

Equipment Management

  • Quadrant and external equipment prepped in accordance with company procedures.
  • Equipment prep managed in a timely and logical manner, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Equipment safely delivered following our ISO standards, with any on-site technical issues managed and reported.
  • Equipment left on site for dry hire must be tested and working within accepted parameters.
  • Operate AV equipment on site as a multi-skilled AV technician.
  • Dismantle and collect equipment returning to base or another Company.
  • Carry out first line maintenance on equipment, such as repairs to cables, replacing fuses, clean fans, lenses etc.
  • Complete PAT testing in a timely manner.

Customer Service

  • Help clients whenever the opportunity arises – always going the extra mile.
  • Dedicated focus on all client events, providing the best service with a customer-centric approach.
  • Thorough and professional handover to client, demonstrating the use of equipment to clients where necessary.

Company Procedures

  • Adhere to all company and venue policies, especially surrounding Health & Safety.
  • Participate in an ongoing training programme relevant to your position within the Company.
  • Use the InspHire system as trained, following the approved procedures.
  • Maintain all tools issued and maintenance of provided employee uniforms.
  • Be a sensible, careful and cautious driver and to be able to perform basic tasks on a vehicle and in place with minimum of penalty points.

Role requirements


  • Proficient, knowledgeable audio-visual technician with a desire to develop your knowledge and skills.
  • Demonstrate collective responsibility and individual accountability, always behaving in a professional manner.
  • Excellent face to face and telephone and good written communication skills.
  • Operates well un-supervised and takes ownership of duties, whilst working collaboratively with all team members and contractors.
  • Understanding of risk assessments – assessing risks effectively.
  • Takes personal responsibility for achieving excellent customer service.
  • Effective planning and logistical skills, prioritising tasks to achieve deadlines.
  • Willing to travel and stay away from home and to work nationwide or even abroad.
  • Willing to work non-standard hours including weekends.
  • Smart appearance at all times, as a representative of Quadrant.
  • Excellent time keeping and organisational skills.
