Job Title: Finance Assistant

Place of work:  Team Love Office, St Werburghs, Bristol, BS2 9PG

(with some days on site at events)

Hours: 24 hours per week (equivalent to 3 days per week) Overtime may be required during our busy period between the months of May and September.

Rate of Pay: £26,500 pro-rata (£15,900 for 3 days per week)

Start Date: No later than Tuesday 2nd April 2024

Employment Term: Permanent

We are one of the South-West’s leading event production companies, specialising in music festivals and events.  We co-programme and produce a number of our own large-scale events (Love Saves The Day, Love International, Simple Things, Waterworks and Forwards) as well as working on shows with other festivals and promoters. We also run our own venue, an established cornerstone of Bristol nightlife, The Love Inn.

About the Role

The Finance Assistant will play a key role in supporting the Finance Account Managers in day to day activities of the Finance Department.

We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper who has worked on Xero. Someone with a keen eye for detail, who has strong administrative skills, and is proficient in Excel.

Key responsibilities

Maintaining up-to-date, complete and accurate accounting records using Xero and Google Sheet/Excel.
Process PO’s and add them to the budget.
Process payments from the payment schedule once signed off by the Finance Manager.
Reconcile the bank accounts in Xero on a weekly basis.
Credit control. Manage warehouse rent payments and chase all  unpaid invoices.
Weekly check through of Xero P&L against the MB.
Maintaining hard copy records & filing.
Dealing with finance-related enquiries from suppliers.
Inbox management

Person Specification

The role requires the ability to work independently and methodically once a task has been set.

Well organised, thorough, efficient and with a good eye for detail.
A team player who is willing to muck in to get the job done.
Confident & proactive.
Essential skills and experience:

Good knowledge and experience in using Xero.
Proven Finance Admin experience and skills.
Excellent IT skills specifically in Excel and Google Docs.

This role is predominantly office based. There may be some work on site work at our events. A number of which take place on greenfield sites – this role would be based in a porta cabin, if required.
