Jockey Club awards four-year temporary structures contract

ArenaGroupJockey Club Racecourses has agreed a new four-year contract with Arena Structures for the provision of temporary structures and ancillary equipment at three of the group’s racecourses: Cheltenham, Aintree and Newmarket racecourses.

The multi-million pound contract is already under starter’s order – Arena has supplied structures to the Cheltenham Festival, which began on Tuesday and continues today (March 14) and tomorrow (March 15). The contract runs inclusively through to 2016, incorporating Aintree’s John Smith’s Grand National meeting and Newmarket Racecourse.

Ian Sidgwick, group purchasing director of the Jockey Club, said of the contract: “This new deal consolidates a very significant part of our purchasing spend and represents improved value for the racecourses involved. We have worked with the Arena team for many years and are confident of their excellent service delivery.

“Arena Structures has been a long standing partner of Jockey Club Racecourses, providing market leading multi-storey hospitality structures which enable each racecourse to maximise revenue streams when capacity peaks at major races. The company’s project management coupled with a flexible approach ensures a successful delivery, providing thousands of guests at our venues with a fantastic experience.”
