This December, Kingdom of Winter – an indoor, winter-themed event – will launch into ExCeL London as part of a long-term partnership to bring festive attractions and experiences to the London events venue.

Opening from December through to January, phase one of Kingdom of Winter will include traditional fairground rides, circus,  a festive market and an ice rink; with more attractions to be announced as well as a food and drink village and alpine bars. The family-friendly indoor experience will be open seven days a week with a 20,000-person capacity per day and 500,000 tickets available to purchase across the month.

Designed to offer a family focused space, Kingdom of Winter will be an indoor-only event making it completely weather-proof.

Kingdom of Winter will operate a 950-capactiy circus, 200-person per hour ice rink and two food and drink villages each with a two-storey alpine inspired chalet bar and high-quality street food vendors. A fairground, themed rides and festive retail chalets will complement an ice sculpture maze providing plenty of opportunities for Instagrammable moments.

Combining more than 60 years of experience across theme parks, experiences and Christmas markets, the operators of Kingdom of Winter are some of the best placed within the UK to create an incredible winter experience to rival all others.

George Gregory, co-founder of Kingdom of Winter, comments: “It’s been a long-held ambition to create a family-focused indoor winter experience and doing so with the ExCeL London brings this ambition to reality. We have plenty of experience within the festive world and believe there is a gap in the market for an indoor experience such as this, allowing all guests (whether with family or friends) to revel in the joy of Christmas time without worrying about the weather or losing their group.”

Nicholas Vercoutere, co-founder of Kingdom of Winter, added: “Being able to sign a long-term deal with ExCeL London has also been incredibly beneficial, their belief in the experience and shared vision of how it can expand and grow over the coming years is truly exciting!”

Damian Norman, head of live events at ExCeL London, said: “From the young to the old, we are all kids at heart when it comes to Christmas so we are delighted to be partnering with the team behind Kingdom of Winter and cannot wait to see how the experience evolves and grows. Phase one, launching in December, will set the standard for all future festive experiences in London moving forward and we are honoured to be a part of that journey.”
