LiveExperienceJames Samuel, event director of International Confex and Live Experience, has confirmed that he and his team are “delighted” with the visitor and exhibitor response to both shows.

Speaking to Stand Out on the final day of Live Experience, Samuel said that the event had much more a buzz with exhibitors making a bigger effort to create a show for live event organisers.

He revealed that UBM is looking to grow Live Experience and suggested that London 2012 and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee were a great way for businesses to learn from the live environment and sector.

Samuel explained that in the long-term, he can see a shift towards more live experiences in the market and in years to come, Live Experience could grow significantly.

But such developments would only come with the continued development of education, as he argued that content was the biggest driver with visitors needing to justify their reasons for visiting the event.

“We’re incredibly proud of our show and our outstanding exhibitors this year; there was a buzz around the show, and the whole week, that underlined why Confex Week continues to be the most important dates in the UK event calendar,” he commented. “The product this year was superb, and in my opinion is the best we have ever produced, this is significant in making sure we get them back in 2014.

“But we’re not resting on our laurels, we’re on our first steps of a three year plan to grow this event and boost our industry, next year needs to be bigger and better again, and with the help of our exhibitors, buyers and our partners in the industry, I’m confident we’ll do it again. Exhibitions, like any event, have to evolve. Like others, we are on a journey and wish to make the event more experiential – we need to make sure that we are leading the industry and being innovative,” he concluded.

International Confex and Live Experience will take place at London’s ExCeL from March 11-13, 2014.
