Midas set to expand LPG generator fleet

Temporary power specialist Midas will add 10 more gas sets, a mix of 40 and 70 kVA, to its hire fleet in April, managing director Dave Noble announced at the official launch of the company’s first Himoinsa LPG generator in Ipswich.

The six-figure investment is a product of the machine’s impact, powering elements of Christmas at Kew, and ensuing enquiries from the likes of the National Trust, a number of production companies with upcoming contracts in Central London and existing Midas clients.

“Sustainability has been top of the wants list at Midas since we launched the company 20 years ago,” Noble says. “As a premier dealer with multi-award winning and similarly motivated manufacturer Himoinsa, we were so pleased to get the opportunity to introduce these machines to the event market and beyond.

“In step with demand, we fully intend to bring a second set of 10 LPG sets, bigger engines, into the mix later in the season.”

Held at Ipswich event venue Greshams, the Midas launch was attended by representatives from local authorities, production managers and promoters, who also heard from Himoinsa and Calor’s UK management teams before seeing a 40kVA LPG generator in action.

Safe, incredibly efficient – Himoinsa gas sets produce zero NOx and slash CO/CO2 emissions far below the leanest, greenest diesel sets via a three-way catalyst – and reliable in all conditions, this is the one system available to rent that meets all the Stage V standards.

According to the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP)’s latest Emissions Gap Report, between now and 2030 annual global emissions must decrease by roughly 7 per cent every year in order in order to limit global warming to 1.5°C.
