Pennine Events and GEM Events to deliver two UCI Cycling World Championship events

Pennine Events and GEM Events have won the contract to deliver two major events at the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships in Scotland in August.

Both companies will work together to deliver the 2023 UCI Para-Cycling and Time Trials at this year’s cycling event.

Alissa Koopal, CEO of Pennine Events, said: “As an SME based in the North West of England, operating for 20 years amidst a constantly challenging and dynamic events industry, it is a true example of entrepreneurship, leadership, and creative business management. It is exemplar how our small business made it through COVID where events were on hold for over a year and decimated the industry. But, with sheer grit and dedication, we have come back with a bang and a world-class team; bringing together an unrivalled level of knowledge and experience in live events. We are ecstatic to play a part in uniting the cycling world and want to deliver a vibrant, inspiring and all-inclusive event for everyone through the power of the bike.”

Stuart Gladstone, director of GEM Events, said: “It is extremely exciting to be looking forward to a brand-new challenge this year, after a long period of recovery in the industry. Having delivered several UCI Cycling World Championships in the past we understand how integral the next few months will be and look forward to delivering excellence across the board once again.”
