The UK events industry was shocked to hear of another stage collapse this weekend leaving one crew member dead and three injured.

The roof of an outdoor stage collapsed killing Scott Johnson, a drum technician from Doncaster, one hour before the gates were due to open on a sold-out Radiohead concert at Downsview Park, Toronto, Canada.

The incident occurred at 4pm on Saturday, as Johnson was making final checks.

Promoter, Live Nation has yet to issue an official statement.

The Toronto Police Service has said that a full investigation will take place by Ontario’s Ministry of Labour.  According to a report by Global Toronto, ministry spokesman Matt Blajer said that investigators are looking at whether safety regulations and standards were followed and to see if staff were properly trained.
