Can-can dancers will be handing out Brasserie Blanc branded baguettes on Tuesday, May 29, at Covent Garden’s piazza to celebrate the opening of Raymond Blanc’s latest offer – Brasserie Blanc Opera Terrace – at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.

The internationally renowned chef will be can-caning too, signing copies of his book Kitchen Secrets and taking part in food demonstrations.

The branded baguettes will give visitors to the piazza the chance to win a selection of prizes including Champagne and dinner for two at the brasserie.

The festivities will begin with a colourful demonstration by professional can-can dancers at 12.30pm, 1.30pm and then at 2.30pm and 3.30pm. The crowd will then be invited to dance alongside Blanc himself at 4.30pm and 6.30pm and the best dancers will have the chance to enter a competition, the first prize of which is a cookery class hosted by Raymond Blanc himself.

Commented Raymond Blanc: “We are so excited by the launch of our new Brasserie Blancs in London and our flagship brasserie in Opera Terrace that we want to celebrate its opening in style. I would encourage as many people as possible to come down to Covent Garden on May 29 for what promises to be an action-packed and very entertaining day!”
