Robert Redford’s Sundance festival is coming to London. The event will take place at The O2 from April 26-29, and will feature special events and panels from the Sundance Institute, which annually hosts the Sundance Film Festival, Utah.

Sundance London is both a film and music festival and will feature performances and sessions from Placebo, Rufus and Martha Wainwright and Robert Redford.

Of the 120 films shown in January at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, 14 have been selected to make their UK premieres at Sundance London.

John Cooper, director, Sundance Film Festival, said: “Sundance London grew out of our desire to help American independent filmmakers expand their reach, and we are happy that these 14 filmmakers are joining us on this adventure. Their participation has helped us to not only create a programme for Sundance London that reflects the diversity of our film festival in Park City, but also that helps build an enduring legacy of American stories that speak to international audiences.

“In programming the Special Events and panels for the first-ever Sundance London, we were afforded total creative freedom, and what resulted are a number of unique events that we hope will broaden the experience of attending the festival for all to enjoy. The common element highlighted throughout the festival is a celebration of those who think creatively and independently about something in their lives.”

Tickets for the events and featured panel sessions go on sale today (March 21) and individual film tickets will go on sale on April 4.
