Lance Show and Publications, organiser of The Showman’s Show, has revealed that the event recycled more than 50 per cent of the show’s waste – 7.92 tonnes of bulk refuse including wood, paper and carpet was recycled, a task co-ordinated by M J Church Event Waste Management.

Jessica Church, director of M J Church Event Waste Management, commented: “We were very proud to be a part of the supply team for The Showman’s Show. Overall, we took 15.2 tonnes from site, 52 per cent of which was recycled, a significant increase on last year.

“To avoid adding to landfill sites has to be a priority, so we are pleased to have recycled as much as we did. We are looking forward to being involved with the Show again next year and hope to increase the amount of recycled waste further.”

Added Johnny Lance, event manager, Lance Show and Publications: “The quantity of recycled waste from this year’s show has again increased on previous years, which is extremely pleasing.  ollowing discussions with the team at M J Church it appears that there is still room for improvement, which we will be looking closely at in the preparations for 2013.”
