Strummer of Love festival revealed

A festival to mark the 10-year anniversary of Joe Strummer’s death has been created. Strummer of Love will take place from August 17-19, with all the proceeds going to Strummerville, a charity that helps aspiring musicians.

The event, for 5,000 people, will take place in a secret Somerset location and commemorate the Clash frontman – 1,001 tickets go on sale today priced at £101.

Lucinda Garland, chair of the Board of Trustees, said: “We felt there was only one way to mark Joe’s anniversary and that was around a campfire in the fields at a festival, his favourite place to be. We have been truly honoured with so many brilliant bands coming out to play at this tribute and what promises to be a great benefit for the charity which will help us to continue our work.”

Strummer of Love has teamed up with All Events VIP to offer festivalgoers luxury festival accommodation and camping.
