TPi Award winners announced

Over 900 event professionals gathered at Hammersmith’s London Novotel West last night to celebrate the great and good of the production world at the annual Total Production International Awards (TPi Awards).

Hosted by BBC 6Music’s Stuart Maconie and BBC 5 Live’s Danny Baker, the gala evening saw the presentation of 28 awards, as well as the first ever major awards event lit entirely by LED lightsources – 300 Robe light fixtures.

The gong for Live Production of the Year went to Take That Progress Live, and Es Devlin, the tour’s set designer, Es Devlin also collected the award for Set Designer of the Year. Favourite Set Construction Company was awarded to Brilliant Stages, Favourite Staging Company was won by Stageco and Eat to the Beat continued its success at the event picking up Favourite Catering Company. The Favourite Venue award, sponsored by Showforce, was given to the O2 Academy Brixton, and Buffalo picked up the award for Favourite Power Supplier. The Video Visionary Award was awarded to the late Des Fallon, and it was announced that this prize will now be named The Des Fallon Video Visionary Award in his honour. XL Video won Favourite Video Services Company, and Showsec picked up the award for Favourite Security/Crowd Management Company for the fifth year in a row. Rock-It Cargo won Favourite Freight Company, Star Events Group won Favourite Rigging Company and Stage Miracles walked away with Favourite Crew Company.
