Warwick Folk Festival awarded Bronze for event accessibility
Warwick Folk Festival has been awarded Bronze from the Live Events Access Charter. The Charter is a framework to support and encourage live event organisations to progress their inclusive practices for diverse disabled people across all areas of their business. The award recognises the festival’s commitment to making it as accessible and inclusive as possible. It follows a tough assessment of its accessibility standards and highlights the progress the festival has made to improve the experience for all attendees.
Dick Dixon, festival director of Warwick Folk Festival, said: “We’ve delighted that the festival has achieved this important milestone. We remain committed to listening and learning and welcome feedback and ideas from our community on how we can continue to make the festival more accessible and welcoming for everyone. Next stop is the Silver Award! With less than two weeks to go, we are gearing up for a spectacular festival. If you haven’t booked tickets yet, then I strongly urge you to do. May the craic be mighty and the music never end!”
The festival is committed to making sure that everyone can enjoy the magic of live music, dance and community. There is wheelchair access through the site, along with electric buggies and accessible camping. A free and scheduled shuttle bus will also be laid on to take visitors from the site into the town for those wanting to explore the area’s streets.
Warwick Folk Festival takes place from July 23-26.
