Winter Wonderland to return with snow and ice sculpture experience
PWR Events and The Royal Parks are to introduce a Magical Ice Kingdom to their Hyde Park Winter Wonderland venture, which is set to return from November 23.
The ice and snow sculpture experience will be created from over 200 tons of ice and snow over four months by 20 sculptors – 500 ice and snow sculptures are expected to be made.
Commented Jamie Wells, director, PWR Events: “This is a unique ice sculpture experience in the UK and we are thrilled to be able to create such an attraction at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland. In a year where the UK has been celebrated across the world, we will continue this celebration by offering the best Christmas Day out in London.”
The Magical Ice Kingdom will be housed inside a winter palace, stretching 40m x 25m, which will be chilled to -8c in order to keep the sculptures frozen throughout the run.
The experience will be ticketed like other attractions on-site that are set to return – an ice rink, giant observation wheel and Zippos Christmas Circus.
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland will run from November 23 until January 6 and will feature a Christmas market, a festive fairground and Santa Land.
